Strike action at London Heathrow has been called off after the airport agreed to pay 2,000 security staff a two-year above-inflation pay rise.
Union Unite said its members would receive a wage increase of between 15.5% and 17.5%, depending on their pay banding position.
A Heathrow Airport spokesperson said: “We are pleased to confirm Unite members have voted to accept a two-year above-inflation pay deal, ending the current dispute and allowing the strikes to be called off.
“We can now move forward together and focus on delivering an excellent summer for our passengers.”
Strikes had been due to take place throughout the summer.
Under the deal the workers will receive:
During the dispute, which began at Easter, the workers took a total of 18 days of industrial action.

Under the deal the workers will receive:
- A 10%increase to all basic salary, shift pay and allowances from January
- A further 1.5% pay increase from October 2023
- Spot rates, salary ranges and formal pay progression will increase when the pay increase is implemented
- An increase in line with inflation for 2024 (a minimum of 4%)
- The end of direct deployment (when workers can be switched between terminals without warning)
- The acceptance of the removal of agency workers from security roles, “as soon as we can”
- Improvement in maternity pay
- Increase in paternity pay.
