A -ROSA has announced it will be adding two new ships to its fleet for the 2024 season.

A-ROSA ALEA (pictured) and A-ROSA CLEA will join the river cruise line in April 2024 and initially sail on the Rhine to provide extra capacity on the popular route.

The two ships, which were built in 2009 and have capacity for 138 guests, will sail north to Amsterdam and Rotterdam and south to Basel and Strasbourg. Agents will be able to make bookings for both ships from October.

In 2025, one ship will then move to the Seine to sail from Paris to Le Havre, and in 2026 the second ship will head to the Gironde/Garonne in the Bordeaux region of France, which are brand new rivers for A-ROSA.

UK & Ireland Managing Director Lucia Rowe said: “These two ships will be a great addition to our fleet.

“Demand in the UK for cruises on the Rhine is very strong at the moment so we are delighted to be able to offer more capacity for next year. I believe their intimate feel and attractive dining concept will really appeal to the UK market and help us to grow our position as the go-to for relaxed, flexible river cruises on Europe’s most beautiful rivers even further.

“Looking ahead, we couldn’t be more excited to offer the new cruise region in the Bordeaux area – our guests asked for more variety, and we have responded.”

Both river ships will feature a whirlpool, fitness room and three different lounges, including an outdoor area on the bow of the ship.
