Advantage Travel Partnership is expanding its team and creating new roles after reporting an increase in members.

For the year, 1 October 2021 to 30 September 2022, membership grew by 25%, with increases across all membership models.

CEO Julia Lo Bue-Said (pictured) said the consortium now had 350 members across 750 locations, including two that joined last week.

Advantage is expanding its Membership Services team to ensure that all members continue to receive dedicated support.

Chief Commercial Officer Kelly Cookes added Advantage is creating new roles to lead its Business Travel, Standard and Advantage Managed Services teams members, including five business development roles in Membership Services.

“With our global buying scale of £12.5 billion and UK buying scale of £4.5 billion, we are uniquely placed to deliver significant commercial benefits to our members across all our operating models,” Kelly said.

Julia said the new members are ‘a mixture’ of recently launched businesses and existing agencies moving from other consortia.

She added: “The growth we’re seeing is when agents want to enter the market and they have been manager in a branch at another company and they’ve set themselves up on their own and they just don’t want the faff of licensing and bonding.

“They’re great sellers of travel. We allow them to plug in and play. We enable them to sell.”

She added: “In general terms the managed services model is what agents want to join – either new agents or existing ones.”
