The Advantage Travel Partnership’s UK members generated £4.6 billion in sales last year, ensuring the consortium returned to profit.

Trading figures for 1 October 2021-30 September 2022 show Advantage made a profit of £619,815 for the year, compared to a pre-tax loss of £327,229 the previous year.

UK leisure sales of £1.5bn and UK business travel sales of £3bn helped total global sales turnover across the Advantage membership hit £12.5bn.

Chairman Steve Esom said: “Following the challenges of a global pandemic, this was a year when worldwide governments started to remove travel restrictions, almost immediately triggering a much-anticipated pent-up demand for travel.

“Whilst this was positive news for the sector, it brought with it further challenges as the industry grappled with the reopening of international travel.

“Against this backdrop our members weathered this storm well by managing their customers’ travel plans as best they could to help minimise disruption and be on hand to guide and support them.

“This has held them in good stead going forward, as research shows that more and more consumers and corporate travellers look to book with travel professionals and experts in what is becoming an increasingly complex world to navigate when travelling.”
