Business class plane tickets have been sold for a fraction of their usual price following a currency conversion error on All Nippon Airways’ website.

The Japanese airline’s premium seats were on sale at economy prices, with one person managing to book a round-trip flight from Jakarta, Indonesia, to the Caribbean island of Aruba with two stop-offs in Tokyo and New York for about £715.

According to reports, the flight would usually sell for more than £13,000.

Customers posted on social media about taking advantage of the glitch and buying flights usually worth £8,000 for under £1,000.

It has been reported the majority of tickets were for flights from Jakarta to Japan and then out to the US.

The airline confirmed the mistake was due to an error on its Vietnam website, The Independent reports.

It has not been revealed how many tickets were sold at the wrong price before the problem was discovered.

Travel Gossip has contacted the airline for comment.
