AmaWaterways will offer four different ‘Soulful Experience’ itineraries next year, including Colombia for the first time.
Soulful Experiences are curated experiences that celebrate the heritage, traditions and cultures of the Black community in international destinations rich with African history.
Guests can choose to cruise Egypt’s Nile on 14 May 2025, France’s Provence region on 21 August, Portugal’s Douro on 14 November and Colombia’s Magdalena River on 18 October.
Both Colombia and the 60-guest AmaMagdalena are new for AmaWaterways in 2025, so guests on the sailing will be among the first to visit the country with the cruise line.
The cruise celebrates Latin American musical styles including cumbia and vallenato, a colourful Carnaval in Barranquilla, as well as stops in in Nueva Venecia, Santa Barbara de Ponto, Mompox, El Banco and Calamar. There will also be a tour of Getsemaní, a colourful neighbourhood in Cartagena, known for its street art, bars, restaurants, and cafes.
Three-night land packages are also offered pre- and/or post-cruise in Medellín or Panama.
