Aquilium Travel has hired Louise Baxendell to double its number of homeworkers after seeing an overall 50% growth in sales after Travel Seen Group bought a majority stake in the business.

Louise, who was previously with homeworking group Holidaysplease, has joined in the newly-created role of Recruitment Manager.

Gary Pridmore, CEO of Aquilium and its homeworking franchise Travel Directors, said Louise is looking to increase the number of homeworkers employed by the company as well as its number of franchisees.

Travel Directors currently has 30 franchisees, a fifth of whom were new-to-travel agents who joined via its Luxury Travel Franchise. After completing an eight-week training programme, Luxury Travel recruits move to Travel Directors.

Gary said sales were ‘booming’ since Travel Seen took a majority stake seven months ago.

He added: “Jen [Atkinson, owner of Travel Seen Group] has been an inspiration to us all and has invested heavily in the company, creating a lead generation system powered by Travel Seen which will give homeworkers direct access to qualified luxury travel leads, helping to grow the homeworkers business’s and provide added value.”
