Attracting talent to the industry is as important as ever

As we compete with other sectors for the services of the brightest and the best, a priority for ABTA is to support the travel industry in attracting and retaining talented individuals.
We do this across a number of fronts, not least from working with universities and colleges, who will have seen their travel and tourism students return to studies recently after the Christmas and New Year break.
We market our industry to prospective employees through our social media channels and through our collaboration with Travel Weekly and its Take Off in Travel programme. We also play an important role in the Tourism Industry Skills Working Group as part of wider efforts to gain the best talent for our industry.
National Apprenticeship Week, which is due to take place next month, is an important opportunity for members to learn more about how apprenticeships can benefit their businesses and help them grow.
The week will highlight how apprenticeships are an excellent option to start, change or develop a career. For more information on how to get involved go to National Apprenticeship Week 2025, 10-16 February 2025.
