British Airways has dropped two more flights to the US due to an ongoing shortage of engine parts.
In October, BA cancelled a number of long-haul flights, including its service between London Gatwick and New York from 12 December till the end of March 2025 due to a lack of spares for Rolls-Royce engines on its Boeing 787s.
It also postponed the launch of its London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur service until next April.
It has now also dropped daily flights between London and Dallas Fort Worth and its second daily flight from London to Miami for summer 2025.
It will still operate one flight a day to Miami next summer.
The latest announced changes are understood to be temporary, and only apply to BA’s summer ’25 schedule.
In a statement, BA said: “We’ve taken this action because we do not believe the issue will be solved quickly, and we want to offer our customers the certainty they deserve.
“We’ve apologised to those affected and are able to offer the vast majority a flight the same day with British Airways or one of our partner airlines.”
BA’s transatlantic partner American Airlines will help pick up the slack for both Dallas and Miami, it said.
American is resuming its second-daily flight between London Heathrow and Miami.
