British Airways is replacing blouses issued to cabin crew last year after thousands complained they were see-through.
Crew said they were getting ‘leery’ comments and stares from passengers when wearing the white tops, which were issued as part of a uniform designed by Savile Row tailor Oswald Boateng.
The white blouses were so transparent that BA had to issue guidance on what cabin crew should wear underneath, according to LBC.
The airline suggested underwear should be plain, with no lace, said the report.
After 10,000 complaints, BA has agreed to issue new blouses, which are 43% thicker.
Oswald Boateng’s team apparently worked on the new uniforms for five years before releasing the collection – including options for non-binary crew – in 2023.
Travel Gossip has asked BA for a comment.
