An Aer Lingus plane was forced to make an emergency landing after a flock of pigeons was sucked into one of its engines.
The Chicago-bound plane returned to Dublin Airport 15 minutes after take off on Thursday (13 April) following the strike.

One passenger tweeted about feeling ‘major vibrations’ on the flight, adding that the pilot had said a flock of pigeons had flown into one of the engines.
Firefighters and airport staff attended the scene after the plane landed at Dublin.
An Aer Lingus spokesperson told MailOnline: “Aer Lingus flight EI123 operating from Dublin to Chicago was required to turn back when the aircraft experienced a bird strike shortly after take-off.
“The aircraft landed safely at Dublin Airport. We are working on getting impacted customers to their destination as quickly as possible.”
