With air travel such a significant part of the UK’s overseas holiday offer, it's important members have the chance to understand the challenges and opportunities facing the UK and global aviation industry. Which is why I’m pleased that ABTA will be hosting its Aviation Forum on 25 April – and the event is free for members and Partners to attend.

This morning event, held at the Walkie Talkie building in central London, will bring together regulators, airlines, operators, travel agents and associations to discuss priorities for the sector, including sustainability, distribution and consumer issues.

ABTA’s Aviation Forum will offer a timely, first-hand update on a range of important issues including aviation’s plans to reach net zero, with Ruhana Begum from the Department for Transport talking about the Government’s Jet Zero strategy, and Andy Jefferson updating on Sustainable Aviation’s new roadmap.

Simon McNamara from IATA will deliver a keynote address on the state of the aviation industry and will then join a panel discussion looking at consumer issues post-pandemic, alongside Rachel Jordan ABTA’s Director of Financial Protection and Membership, and the Legal Director from Kennedys LLP.

The panel will examine the range of consumer protection and rights issues facing the sector, including ATOL reform.

Places are limited, so if you are interested in joining us at the event you can register here. We look forward to seeing you there.
