A 36-year-old woman is in a critical condition in hospital after falling from the sixth-floor balcony of a popular Benidorm hotel.
Her husband, aged 40, was initially arrested in the early hours of Saturday on suspicion of attempted homicide, but he has since been released by a judge without charge.
The couple were staying at the four-star Rio Park hotel, part of the Medplaya hotel chain, when the woman fell from the balcony, just after midnight.
She was taken to hospital in Villajoyosa.
The hotel, close to Costa Blanca’s Levante Beach, is featured by several UK operators including TUI and easyJet holidays.
