EgyptAir will launch flights from Manchester to Cairo next month.

When the flights start on 15 July, Manchester will be the only UK city outside London to have a direct link to Egypt’s capital.

The route was last served in 2015.

Flights will operate five times a week, every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, departing at 14:30 from Manchester.

The service will be flown by a B737-800 with 154 seats, including business class.

EgyptAir Chairman and CEO Mohamed Moussa said: “In addition, being a main hub to Africa, the Middle East and the Far East, Cairo International Airport offers various connections to passengers from Manchester to explore the world, with EgyptAir serving more than 70 destinations worldwide.”
