Eastern Airways’ daily service between Cardiff and Paris Orly airport is to be axed from the end of March, according to an online source.

The route, launched last April, is operated in partnership with Air France and was Eastern’s only service from the Welsh airport.

However, according to a tweet by UK airline scheduled analyst ‘Sean M’, Eastern Airways will terminate the service on 30 March. There are no flights available to book on Eastern’s website from the end of March.

At the same time, the airline is switching its flights to Southampton and East Midlands from Paris Orly to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. The services were launched last spring along with the flights to East Midlands.

Travel Gossip has asked Eastern Airways and Cardiff Airport for a comment.

Meanwhile, British Airways’ sister airline Vueling is returning to London Heathrow this spring with flights to both Paris Orly and Barcelona El Prat.

The daily flights to Paris will launch on 7 April in time for the Olympic Games being hosted by the French capital.

Vueling’s new service to Barcelona will operate twice daily, also from 7 April.

The airline last flew from Heathrow in 2020.
