Celebrity Cruises has pulled four sailings on Edge-series ship Celebrity Apex due to a change in dry dock availability.

One of the affected sailings was an 11-night Canary Islands cruise from Southampton on 24 October 2024.

The other three axed sailings were a repositioning cruise to Fort Lauderdale and two Caribbean sailings on 3 November, 16 November and 23 November.

An email sent to affected passengers reads: “These sailings must unfortunately be redeployed to accommodate an earlier dry dock schedule.

“Due to this change in dock availability, we must cancel bookings and reaccommodate guests to alternate sailings.”

The line has offered passengers six other sailings, with similar dates in November and December 2024, to book.

“It is our hope that you will sail with us aboard a comparable Celebrity Cruises sailings,” Celebrity added in the email.

For all alternative sailings, guests’ booking rates are protected or they will be changed to the lowest available rate in their chosen cabin.

Passengers can choose to book any Celebrity Cruises ship for any sailing and will receive onboard credit of $200 per standard stateroom and $400 per suite, Cruise Hive reports.

Guests who choose not to rebook either one of the six selected sailings or another cruise elsewhere in the line’s scheduled programme will receive a full refund of all monies paid.

The line added that it would not offer reimbursement for cancelled flights due to the cancellations.

A Celebrity Cruises spokesperson said: “Celebrity Apex will be entering an earlier dry dock schedule between 23 October to 23 November before relocating to the Caribbean for the winter season.

“All affected guests have been notified and offered alternative sailings dates, as well as compensation if they do choose to rebook.

“Full refunds will be processed to guests who choose to cancel and not rebook an alternate cruise.

“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
