Celestyal has announced the acquisition of a new ship, Celestyal Discovery, which will join the fleet early next year.

The 1,266-passenger ship was built in 2003 for Carnival Corporation and has been sailing under the AIDA Cruise brand.

Celestyal Discovery will join existing ship Celestyal Journey in Athens where they will be refurbished, ahead of their new season, which starts in March 2024.

Celestyal Discovery will take over the programme that had been planned for Celestyal Olympia, which will now no longer continue to sail with the fleet after this week.

Guests currently holding reservations on Celestyal Olympia will be contacted and bookings moved over to Celestyal Discovery.

Launch offers will be included in the cruise line’s Black Friday promotions later this week, while the ship’s full programme will go on sale from 11 December.
