Celestyal Cruises has promised to offer travel agents ship visits, fam trips and training following the €20 million refurbishment of new ship Celestyal Journey.

The 1,260-passenger ship was acquired by the Greek Island and Eastern Mediterranean specialist from Holland America Line earlier this year.

It has been fitted with new balcony suites, seven dining venues, eight bars and lounges, two swimming pools and an entire deck dedicated to wellness.

A retractable roof over one of the pools means that passengers can swim throughout the year.

The ship has 280% more balcony suites than Celestyal Crystal.

Chief Commercial Officer Lee Haslett said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for Celestyal, and we’re looking forward to working closely with our trade partners to highlight our much-elevated onboard product alongside our renowned brand proposition of destination-rich, immersive travel experiences.

“Our goal is to immerse our agent and operator partners in the Celestyal Journey via in-person ship visits, fam trips and training to expand their product knowledge and truly benefit customers.”

He added: “We are excited about this next chapter and the opportunity to grow together.”

Celestyal Journey will start operating for Celestyal Cruises from 2 September this year, taking over Celestyal Crystal’s programme.

Prices for Celestyal Journey’s Idyllic Aegean sailing, departing from Piraeus on 2 September, start from £1,139 per person.
