Eleven children whose parents work in the travel industry joined Classic Collection on its first two ‘Junior Hotel Inspector’ fam trips last week.
The operator launched the Junior Hotel Inspectors trip earlier this summer, asking agents to send a 30-second video of themselves and their child, explaining why they’d like to take part in the special fam trip.
The youngsters and their adult plus-ones visited the Constantinou Bros Athena Beach Hotel, Cyprus and Titanic Hotels, Turkey, to inspect the properties for their child-friendly facilities.
Among the junior inspectors was six-year-old Lillie, daughter of Classic Collection B2B Director Si Morris-Green and seven-year-old George, son of Classic Collection Regional Sales Manager Sarah Ayling-Webster.
The others on the trip were children of agents from Aspire, Dawson & Sanderson, Hays, Miles Morgan, Millington, Not Just Travel, One Travel Club, Seaside Travel and Sunlounger Travel Cambridgeshire.
Si said: “It’s very rare that agents get to take their children to work, especially overseas, so we’re delighted to have enabled trips for some of our trade partners to share with their kids.
“The children had many questions and gave those refreshingly honest opinions that only kids can, whilst our partner hotels were able to showcase the suitability of their hotel products to both children and adults.”
Sarah added: “So many travel professionals are often away from family for work. This trip has helped George with his understanding of my job and might well have a lit a spark of interest in him becoming a travel professional of the future.”
Miles Morgan Travel agent Melissa Tyers said: “I’m beyond grateful to have spent this one-on-one time with my girl Florence. We’ve made some friends for life and memories we’ll cherish forever.”
Details of how the inspectors got on are being shared on the Classic Collection Agent Facebook Group. One more Junior Hotel Inspectors trip is being finalised, which will take place next spring.
