Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) UK & Ireland has added extra places for its annual conference in May due to P&O Cruises’ Britannia joining its ship visit schedule.

The conference, which takes place in Southampton from 23-25 May, originally sold out in 48-hours.

With the extra spaces, CLIA is expecting around 850 agents to join, making it the biggest conference the association has held.

This year’s event will include conference sessions, a trade fair, ship visits and a gala dinner.

The other ships available for visits are Cunard’s Queen Anne, Fred Olsen’s Borealis, MSC Cruises’ MSC Virtuosa, P&O Cruises’ Iona, Princess Cruises’ Sky Princess and Silversea’s Silver Dawn.

CLIA Managing Director UK & Ireland Andy Harmer said: “We’re thrilled to be able to offer yet more places to the trade for our biggest-ever CLIA Conference. I’m particularly grateful to P&O Cruises for adding the stunning Britannia to our cruise ship line-up, meaning delegates have a wealth of onboard options to experience and explore.

“CLIA Conference offers delegates the ideal opportunity to engage with operators from all sectors of the industry and we can’t wait for a record-breaking number of agents to join us.

“The cruise industry has had an incredibly positive start to the year and we’re looking forward to maintaining that momentum in the run-up to the conference. We can then give agents even more reasons to sell cruise, and will provide the insight and expertise to showcase everything their customers will love about a holiday at sea.”
