Cruise association CLIA has announced two overseas trade events for 2024, including a brand-new weekend event in Barcelona.
The CLIA Weekender will be held in Barcelona from 24-26 October and will give agents the opportunity to see the destination as well as take tours of Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas, MSC’s World Europa, Explora Journeys’ Explora II and Windstar’s Wind Star.
An evening reception will be held on 24 October in Barcelona, with free time to explore the city built into the programme. Further details will be shared soon, said CLIA.
Also announced during this year’s annual conference in Southampton was the return of the CLIA Destination Showcase, which will take place in Gibraltar from 15-17 September.
The showcase will include destination training as well as the chance to join local tours and ship visits on Holland America Line’s Nieuw Statendam and Azamara’s Azamara Quest.
CLIA UK & Ireland Managing Director Andy Harmer said: “These two events will give agents the ideal opportunity to immerse themselves in renowned destinations and a range of fantastic ships. We’ve already heard that demand for every type of cruise continues to increase, so our Destination Showcase and CLIA Weekender will provide more opportunities to gain the invaluable first-hand insight we know is so compelling when selling cruise.”
