Oceania Cruises has pushed back delivery of its ship Allura because of construction delays.
It means six scheduled sailings next summer have been cancelled and the ship’s inaugural cruise will now take place at the end of July 2025.
The ship, which is a sister ship to Vista, is being built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy. It had been originally scheduled for delivery in May 2025.
In a notification, Oceania Cruises said: “We have been informed by the shipyard that Allura’s delivery will be delayed. As a result, we will need to cancel her scheduled sailings in June and July of next year.”
The sailings on Allura that have been cancelled are 8 June to 29 July 2025.
The ship’s new inaugural sailing will be a 12-day voyage out of Athens on July 24, 2025, to Monte Carlo. Details of the new itinerary are still being arranged.
Bookings for the new inaugural will go live on 12 February 2024. Guests affected by the cancellations will be able to reserve the inaugural sailing from today (5 February).
After that, Allura‘s 5 August departure from Monte Carlo is expected to be the scheduled 10-night cruise to Athens, taking in Italy, Greece, and Turkey.
Guests booked on the cancelled cruises will get a refund and a rebooking offer, which has not yet been finalised.
Less than two weeks ago, Fincantieri announced there would be a delay in completion of another ship, Princess Cruises’ Sun Princess, which had been due to depart on its inaugural on 8 February.
