Travel guide and small group tours website TheCultureTrip.com has been bought by US-based digital media firm US News & World Report for an undisclosed sum.
Culture Trip, founded in 2011, originally as an online travel guide, curates insider-led tours aimed at millennials.
It was the subject of a management buyout last year, led by Chief Executive Officer Ana Jakimovska who later announced the company was looking for a capital injection or a buyer.
“As we continue to find ways to help people make informed decisions, the Culture Trip website is a natural extension of our US News travel business,” said US News CEO Eric Gertler.
“Consumers want information they can trust and resources they can rely on when planning a trip.
“This acquisition now empowers millions of travellers with the tools they need to find the best value and experience.”
