The arrival of Cunard’s new ship Queen Anne has been delayed arriving into Southampton ahead of its maiden voyage next week.

The ship had been due to arrive into the port this Saturday (27 April), but it is has now been pushed back until 3pm on Tuesday (30 April) while ‘finishing touches’ are made before the maiden voyage on 3 May.

The 3,000 passenger Queen Anne – Cunard’s first new ship in 14 years – had been due to be met by a flotilla of boats on arrival in Southampton at the weekend.

Cunard had also originally planned for an overnight test cruise for agents on 29 April, which has been cancelled.

A spokesperson for Cunard confirmed in a statement: “Queen Anne is expected to be alongside at Mayflower Terminal at 15.00 on Tuesday 30 April.

“The rescheduling is to ensure final touches are complete ahead of her maiden voyage, which will depart Southampton as planned on Friday 3 May – a seven-night sailing to La Coruna and Lisbon.”
