ABTA estimates two million British holidays will head overseas during the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, with Good Friday and Easter Sunday the busiest days for travel.
ABTA members report the Canary Islands, mainland Spain, Portugal, Cyprus and Turkey are the most popular destinations.
Many people are also taking advantage of the four-day Bank Holiday weekend to take a city break, with Amsterdam, Barcelona, Prague and Dublin popular for short haul and New York and Dubai for longer flights.
ABTA says 175,000 passengers will leave from Stansted this weekend, 105,000 from Luton, 79,000 from Birmingham, and 89,000 from Edinburgh.
Manchester Airport said 320,000 people will fly into and/or out of the hub this Bank Holiday weekend, up 8% on the same weekend last year. It said Dublin, Dubai, Amsterdam, Tenerife and Alicante are the most popular destinations this Easter.
During the whole of April, 2.3m people are expected to fly from Manchester, up 7% on 2023.
Newcastle International Airport said it is expecting over 250,000 passengers to travel through the terminal over the Easter school holidays.
