EasyJet has blamed crew rest restrictions and staff sickness for the ongoing disruption to its flights to and from Bristol Airport.

Stormy weather across the UK and Europe on Sunday and Monday had caused delays and cancellations from a number of easyJet bases at the start of the week.

EasyJet said it had also experienced some aircraft technical issues.

However, cancellations have continued at Bristol throughout the week.

On Thursday, an easyJet spokesperson said: “We have been unable to operate some flights from Bristol today due to crew rest restrictions and sickness.

“We are doing all possible to minimise the impact for our customers, cancelling in advance where possible to provide customes with notice to rebook on alternative flights and receive a refund and we are providing hotel accommodation and meals for those customers who require them.

“The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is our hightest priority and we are very sorry for the inconvenience this will have caused.”

EasyJet has also cancelled a small number of flights to and from Bristol today (Friday).
