Eurostar has confirmed that it has dropped its weekly direct service from London direct to the French Alps for this coming winter.

The service, operated in partnership with Travelski since 2021, previously ran from St Pancras to Moutiers and Bourg St Maurice on Saturdays throughout the ski season.

However, Eurostar has confirmed that it will not be continuing its direct service for winter 2023/24.

Instead, it said passengers who want to reach the Alps by train will need to travel by Eurostar to Lille, where they can connect on to a Eurostar continental train.

The train will six stop at Chambéry, Albertville, Moutiers, Aime-La Plagne, Landry and Bourg St Maurice.

Eurostar said the new service will run for ‘a short season’ starting in the middle of December, with the outbound train leaving London on Saturdays and the inbound train returning on Sundays.

It said it would share more information about the new service ‘soon’.

Travelski said it was working with Eurostar on train-inclusive packages, operating via Lille, which will be ‘available soon’.

Alternatively, according to a message on Eurostar’s website, passengers can travel via Paris and connect to a TGV train to Moutiers or Bourg Saint Maurice.
