Travel Gossip’s New to USA Bootcamp kicked off on Monday, with online training sessions from destination experts sharing all-important hints and information to help agents secure bookings.
Representatives from organisations including Brand USA, Daytona Beach, Delta, Travel Nevada, United and Visit Orlando are taking part, with sessions running throughout the week.
Here are a few things we’ve learned so far:
1 We discovered where to go for America’s largest Oktoberfest.
2 We took a walk through United Airlines’ cabins, with its four different seat types, including Premium Plus.
3 There’s a designated driver service available for visitors to some of the 425 wineries in Sonoma County.
4 The original ‘Sin City’ is not Las Vegas.
5 Where Florida’s ‘sweetest spot’ is located.
In addition to the USA Bootcamp training sessions, there are articles to help agents sell everything from fly-drives to city breaks to the great outdoors, plus a supplier directory.
And, at the end of the Bootcamp, on 24 November, there will be a quiz, with a first prize of £300, a second prize of £150 and a third prize of £50.
