Almost all passenger flights from Belgium’s two largest airports have been cancelled today due to essential workers taking part in a national demonstration.
The majority of flights from both Brussels Airport and Brussels South Charleroi have been grounded.
Most flights arriving into Brussels Airport have also been cancelled, including a British Airways flight from London.
Some passenger flights have landed this morning at Charleroi airport, but it also has some cancellations.
A large number of staff employed by the airports’ external security service provider are joining around 1,000 essential workers from across Europe in a demonstration in Brussels at midday to protest about working conditions.
