The Foreign Office has issued a new warning for travellers to multiple countries in the Middle East following reports of explosions in Iran.

It said there had also been unconfirmed reports of explosions in Syria and Iraq on 19 April.

The Foreign Office (FCDO) had already been warning travellers to the Middle East of a rapidly changing situation following Iran’s missile attack on Israel on 13 April.

In today’s update for travel to destinations including Egpyt, Israel, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Tunisia and the UAE (including Dubai), it said: “On 19 April, there have been reports of explosions in Iran, and unconfirmed reports of explosions in Syria and Iraq.

“Monitor this travel advice and other media as the situation is changing fast. Follow and contact FCDO travel on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. You can also get email notifications when this travel advice is updated.”

The updated advice is included in the ‘warnings’ section of the FCDO travel advisory pages for 18 countries.
