The Foreign Office has updated its travel advice for 20 countries due to an escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.

The warnings were issued on 26 October after Israel carried out military strikes against Iran.

The Foreign Office said there is a risk that the hostilities could escalate further, and with little warning in some destinations.

In an update to its advice for holiday hotspots, including Cyprus, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia and Oman and the UAE including Dubai, it said ongoing hostilities between Israel and Lebanon ‘could escalate quickly and pose risks for the wider region’.

It added: “On 1 October, Iran launched around 200 ballistic missiles at Israel. On 26 October, Israel carried out military action against Iran.
