The UK Foreign Office has warned travellers to France face disruption and possible cancellations because of industrial action planned during June.

The FCDO said: “Throughout June, planned industrial action by port worker and air traffic control unions is expected to disrupt some ferry routes and flights across France, with some routes and flights diverted or cancelled.

“Check your operator’s advice before travelling, including where you are taking connecting flights.”

It added: “Until September, possible industrial action may cause disruption on the Paris public transport system (RATP). Check the RATP website for live service updates.”

Ferry services from Calais to Dover were disrupted on Friday because of strike action at the French port which is expected to last until midnight on Saturday. P&O Ferries, Irish Ferries and DFDS have cancelled, delayed or rerouted sailings.

It’s expected aviation workers, including air traffic control staff, could strike between 8-15 June, including between 11-13 June at Paris Orly.
