Globus says it will be putting more focus on agent training and fam trips in 2024 now that its newly expanded UK trade team is in place.
Globus and its brands Avalon Waterways and Cosmos recently restructured their trade-facing team with three new appointments and two internal promotions – with the latest new recruit, former Premier Holidays Sales and BDM Karen Milward, joining the team earlier this week.
UK Sales Director Phil Shipman, who joined from Classic Collection last year, said the trade team will be splitting their remit across touring and cruising to ensure agents are given what they need.
“It’s great that we now have our team in place so we can get out and about to meet our agent partners,” he said. “We can really start to increase our activity and to have the focus on our different products is only going to help agents understand our brands better.”
He added that Avalon will operate around six agent fam trips later in 2024 across the European fleet to give agents a taster of the product.
Phil also told Travel Gossip the new agent portal will be available to UK agents in a few months. It is currently being rolled out in North America and will be a bookable site, as well as offering more product information and training for the trade.
