Heathrow has reported its busiest start to autumn to date, with 7.3 million passengers travelling through in September.

This September’s figure is 200,000 more than the same month last year, when the airport surpassed 7m passengers during the month of September for the first time.

The busy September followed a record summer for 2024, with more than 30m passengers travelling during June to September.

The airport’s busiest arrivals day ever was recorded on 2 September, when more than 140,500 passengers landed at Heathrow.

Meanwhile, Manchester Airport is celebrating a milestone after reporting 30.1 million passengers in the past 12 months.

September was the 12th record-breaking month in a row and the airport says 93% of passengers got to security in under 10 minutes.
