Hundreds of Border Force officers at Heathrow Airport will strike for four days from 31 August, followed by a three-week work-to-rule.

The 650 members working at Heathrow Terminals 2, 3, 4, and 5 have been in dispute with their employer since April when a new roster was imposed, the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union said.

It added that, since April, around 160 staff have left because of the lack of flexibility and changes to the shifts.

The newly announced strikes will take place until 3 September inclusive, after which staff have agreed to operate a work-to-rule and overtime ban until 22 September.

The new round of industrial action follows seven strike days by Border Force workers in April, May and June in addition to working to rule and no overtime on certain days.
