Incredible Journeys and Intrepid held a joint fundraising bake sale to raise money for Morocco following the devastating earthquake last month.

Held at dnata Travel Group UK’s head office in Leyland, the bake sale raised £130 which will go toward The Intrepid Foundation’s long-term partner, Education For All, whose facilities were badly damaged following the 6.8 magnitude earthquake which hit the country on 8 September.

Education For All provides free education and board for girls aged 11-to-18 years old, in remote regions of the High Atlas Mountains.

The money donated from Incredible Journey’s in-house bake sale will go towards rebuilding the boarding houses, as well as helping to provide emergency relief including food, medicine, and water.

Incredible Journeys’ Head of Specialist Product Mark Henderson said: “The work and fundraising The Intrepid Foundation has already done to raise money and awareness for Morocco is outstanding. Intrepid is a key partner for our touring brand, Incredible Journeys, and we want to support them in any way we can. Having Carrie Grant and Charli Preston at our head office to join us for the bake sale and speak to our teams about the work they are doing was really impactful”.

Intrepid’s Head of Business Development and Partnerships, Joanna Reeve added: “It has been amazing to see the travel industry come together to support Morocco during such a difficult time. We have now raised over £300,000 to support our local partners on the ground through our appeal. Incredible Journeys are an important partner for Intrepid and it’s great to see us working together to help get Education for All back up and running.”

Earlier this year some of the Incredible Journeys team visited Education For All during an Intrepid FAM trip, witnessing first-hand the work The Intrepid Foundation has done.
