Inghams Ski has tripled its seat allocation on Eurostar’s snow train to the Alps for the coming season after seeing high demand last year, when the packages sold out.

The Eurostar trains will take customers to the ski resorts of Val d’Isère, Tignes and Les Arcs. Inghams Ski will also operate a longer season from 21 December through to 22 February 2025, which extends into half term.

Inghams said using rail over air travel is helping the company work towards halving its emissions by 2030, and Managing Director John Mansell also highlighted the urgency for the new Government to support inter-European train travel from the UK.

He said: “Train travel isn’t a flash in the pan. Last year’s sell-out showed us and the entire industry that the demand is real. As outdoor enthusiasts, skiers care about the future of the mountains. If you’re a mountain-lover, riding the rails through these precious landscapes is an utterly captivating start to any ski holiday.

“Offering lower carbon travel solutions is the crucial keystone of our sustainability strategy as we continue to work towards halving our emissions by 2030. As well as offering the Eurostar Snow train route into Tignes, Val d’Isère and Les Arcs, we also launched train routes to 15 other resorts in three countries last season – a total of 25% of Inghams’ global ski resorts reachable by train, from the UK. This season we’re going to expand our routes even further, offering customers the chance to travel by train to resorts in Morzine and Avoriaz, and elsewhere too.

“With a new government in power, we now urgently need better support for inter-European train travel from the UK; policies to help with price and infrastructure, making it more accessible to customers outside of London and the South East too.”

Operating from Saturday to Sunday, trains will depart from London St Pancras to Bourg-Saint-Maurice in France, with a change in Lille.
