InteleTravel has reached a deal with Jet2holidays to allow its agents to book the operator’s packages for the first time.

Reports of the move follow the US-based homeworking group’s investment in trade-only UK operator Major Travel,

Jet2holidays said it had ‘continued to monitor InteleTravel closely’ and it was ‘impressed by the significant progress they have made in a number of areas since gaining ABTA membership, including developments around training and back office support’.

They added: “We have a rigorous set of standards that we apply to all partners and when we are satisfied that potential partners meet these standards, we will of course consider working with them.

“Our standard commercial and pricing agreements will apply to InteleTravel. We believe that working with InteleTravel will also enable better transparency over where bookings are coming from.”

Travel Gossip has seen an InteleTravel internal message telling agents it was ‘excited to announce the launch of Jet2holidays’ and inviting agents to sign up for a webinar scheduled for next week to find out more about the operator’s product.

It added: “It is imperative that you listen to this webinar prior to making any booking with Jet2holidays so you understand the booking process.”

Several agents who have left InteleTravel in the past told Travel Gossip one of the reasons was because they wanted to be able to have access to more operators, especially giants like Jet2holidays.

One of Intele’s global top sellers Dave Leyshon said it was the key reason he defected to Protected Trust Services.
