Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson is rumoured to be planning a new hotel in Ibiza to offer cruise-and-stay packages.

Local reports suggest he will open a Virgin hotel on the White Island ‘quite soon’.

However, it is not clear if this will be a luxury Virgin Limited Edition property, or a larger Virgin Hotel.

Sir Richard recently opened a Virgin Limited Edition in Majorca, the Son Bunyola, on the island’s north-west coast.

The exclusive 26-room Majorca hotel is currently being expanded to include two additional villas.

While this took 25 years to complete, unconfirmed reports in Ibiza suggest a Virgin hotel will open quicker.

Virgin Limited Edition also has seven other exclusive properties around the world, including on Sir Richard’s private Neckar island in the Caribbean and in Morocco.

Virgin Hotels, a mainly US-based collection of larger hotels, has opened its second hotel in Scotland, in Glasgow, this week and it has confirmed plans to expand into Miami and Denver in 2025.

Its CEO James Bermingham first suggested last year that it was interested in opening in Ibiza and possibly in Italy, Greece and Portugal too.

It has been mooted that Sir Richard wants a hotel in Ibiza to be able to offer packages combining cruises on Virgin Voyages with a stay on the party island.

Virgin Voyages’ Valiant Lady spends two days in Ibiza on both her French Daze & Ibiza Nights and Irresistible Med itineraries.
