Jet2 will launch flights and packages from Bournemouth Airport two months earlier than originally planned.

The new start date for flights and packages from Bournemouth will be 4 February 2025. The original start date had been scheduled for 1 April.

The operator said ‘consistent and strong demand’ had led to the decision, with CEO Steve Heapy saying: “We know that local holidaymakers cannot wait for us to launch from Bournemouth Airport, so we have shortened how long they have to wait!”

There will be flights to Tenerife every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 4 February; services to Lanzarote on Mondays and Thursdays from 6 February and a weekly Sunday flight to Gran Canaria from 9 February.

From April 2025, Jet2.com will operate up to 27 weekly flights, including to the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Turkey, Greece mainland Spain, Portugal and Madeira. Two destinations –Fuerteventura and Madeira – are exclusive from Bournemouth Airport.

Bournemouth Airport Managing Director Steve Gill said: “This is fantastic news for passengers – not only are Jet2.com and Jet2holidays bringing the launch of their flights and holidays forward by two months, but these flights to the Canaries will operate year-round. That means even more choice for local holidaymakers from Bournemouth Airport.”
