Jet2 is warning customers of potential disruption to its operations for the rest of this week due to bad weather.

In a statement posted on its website, Jet2 said passengers could experience ‘a longer than usual wait on aircraft’, adding: “We apologise in advance if this is the case.”

The Met Office has forecast further Arctic-like weather for the UK until the weekend, with snow showers, mainly in coastal areas of Scotland and Northern Ireland but with some flurries further south too.

There are also some flood warnings in place in England.

“Our operations team are continually working with the Met Office to ensure we have the latest and up to date information so we can react quickly should there be any disruption,” said the Jet2 statement.

“If you are due to fly on a Jet2.com flight during this period, please allow extra time to get to the airport and carry any essentials in your hand luggage (with liquid restrictions in mind).

“At present, all our flights are scheduled to depart on time and our check in desks will continue to close 40 minutes prior to the scheduled departure of your flight.

“We will always (where required) board our flights for an on-time departure, meaning, we can depart as soon as we have clearance. During events of bad weather this could cause a longer than usual wait onboard the aircraft, we apologise in advance if this is the case.”

It said passengers will be told by SMS and email of any delays.
