Leger Shearings Group has reintroduced its specialist bridge holidays brand.

The First for Bridge brand offers holidays in the UK and worldwide, featuring four different options: Premier, Beginners, Refresher, and Play & Explore.

The collection also includes breaks to attend English Bridge Union (EBU) Congress events, both in the UK and overseas.

First for Bridge has assembled a team of EBU-qualified directors, hosts and teachers to lead the holidays. The team includes Premier Life Master and EBU-qualified tournament director Mark Hooper, professional bridge player and coach Dom Rayner, and EBU Panel Director Colin Simcox.

The brand’s website also has a First for Bridge blog, featuring valuable holiday experiences, expert advice, and tour insights.

The number of bridge tables varies depending on the holiday type. On average, Premier Bridge holidays have 10-15 tables; Play & Explore have seven-12; Refresher Bridge holidays have up to 12 tables, and Beginners’ Bridge breaks have up to seven. There are no half tables on Premier Bridge holidays.

Solo travellers are catered for with partners always found in the bridge room. In addition, the hosts hold a singles meeting at the beginning of the holiday to introduce prospective partners.

Venues include Sudeley Castle in the Cotswolds (pictured).

Standard Masterpoints are awarded on the Premier and Play & Explore holidays, and the EBU award Blue and Green-pointed Masterpoints at their Congresses. Licenced by the EBU, this popular scheme ensures EBU members receive their points even on holiday.

Leger Shearings CEO Liam Race said: “We really enjoyed working on the relaunch of ‘First for Bridge’, along with our crafting holiday brand Stitchtopia. These specialist tours are something very different, they’ve expanded our product range and we’re working with a new demographic of customer.”
