A recent YouGov report for UNICEF (July 2024) highlighted that many families across the UK are struggling with financial worries and poor mental health. 62% of respondents feared the financial strain of the summer holidays, and 39% had gone into debt to make ends meet and pay for essentials.

For families and individuals that are financially struggling in our travel industry, LifeLine can help. The charity is an important member benefit and an integral part of your wellbeing programmes. LifeLine wants to work closely with our members to spread the word of the services it can provide, and reach more people in your employee community who may be in hardship right now.

Lifeline relies heavily on your financial support to provide the services it does, and we are extremely grateful for the contributions that ABTA members and your staff have given and continue to give. The Travel Convention always sees members give generously and this year delegates have an opportunity to support LifeLine whilst having a fun day out. You can join fellow delegates on a cycle ride through beautiful Greek countryside, cycle through olive groves, explore the renowned archaeological site of ancient Messini, and sample local food and drinks. By signing up you will be directly supporting colleagues in our industry.

Finally, one way you can support LifeLine is simply donating on an annual basis £2 for every employee you have. No matter how large or small your company all those pounds added up will make a significant difference to the lives of people in our community.

Please do get in touch with LifeLine to discuss how best we can communicate to your staff the benefits the charity can bring or to discuss how you too can actively support LifeLine.
