London Luton Airport has reopened to passengers and flights are expected to resume at 3pm following a fire in a multi-storey car park adjacent to the terminal building.

In a message posted on Twitter/X, the airport said emergency teams have down-graded the incident in Terminal Car Park 2, but they remain on site.

Passengers have been allowed back into the terminal building and the first departure is expected at 3pm, but easyJet has cancelled many of this afternoon’s flights from Luton, including services to Belfast, Heraklion, Corfu, Prague, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Paris. Many other flights from all airlines are scheduled with delays of two to four hours.

For those passengers arriving by car, the long and mid-stay car parks are open and a temporary drop-off area has been established in the mid-stay car park.

The DART shuttle service for those travelling by rail is still out of action, but a replacement bus service is in operation.

Those with queries relating to parked vehicles or future bookings in Terminal Car Park 2 and Car Park 1 should contact luton.customerservices@apcao.com.
