Marella Cruises has included a solar eclipse sailing in its newly released summer 2026 programme.
The voyage, onboard Marella Discovery 2 will allow passengers to witness the solar eclipse at sea on 12 August 2026, in Palamos.
It is part of a new range of itineraries and expanded Cruise & Stay options across the fleet, with 18 new hotels added in Cyprus, Croatia, Corfu and Spain, which go on sale on 17 October.
The solar eclipse sailing on Marella Discovery 2 is part of the ship’s seven-night ‘Cosmopolitan Charms’itinerary, roundtrip from Palma on 11 August 2026, calling at Palamos, Spain; Propriano, France,; Civitavecchia (for Rome), Italy; Salerno (for Pompeii and Amalfi), Italy and Palermo, Sicily.
This will be the first time Marella Cruises has created a specific itinerary to allow eclipse-chasers the chance to see the lunar experience at sea.
Marella Discovery 2 will also sail a ‘Jewels of the Mediterranean’ roundtripitinerary from Palma, Majorca to Olbia, Sardinina; La Spezia (for Portofino and Florence), Italy; Villefrance (for Monaco), France; Toulon (for Cote D’Azur), France and Palamos, Spain.
The cruise line celebrates its 30th birthday on 7 May 2026.
Prices for the ‘Cosmopolitan Charms’ cruse start at £1,533 per person.
