Marella Cruises has rolled out Starlink across its fleet to give passengers a better onboard wifi experience.

Starlink is a division of SpaceX, the spacecraft manufacturer and satellite communication company founded by Elon Musk, which provides internet for residences and businesses.

Covering large geographical areas, Marella said the enhanced internet connectivity is part of its ‘continual mission to find new and innovative ways to improve the experience for both guests and crew while on board’.

It said the ‘cutting-edge technology will ensure guests and crew have a faster and more reliable method to stay connected with friends and family and share their memories while at sea’.

Marella Cruises MD Chris Hackney added: “By working with this global satellite internet system, we aim to provide the very best to our customers, with high-performing connectivity whilst at sea.

“We know that staying connected is key, whether customers wish to keep in touch with family and friends on their journey, or replying to an important email. We’re really excited to be offering this important upgrade across out fleet.”
