MSC Cruises has pulled several European sailings due to be operated by MSC Seaview this month.

The line said ‘additional maintenance work’ that came to light ‘very recently’ meant the ship had to remain in drydock in Paolo, Malta, where it has been since 31 March, for an extra two weeks.

Cruises on MSC Seaview departing from Genoa, Civitavecchia and Palma between 17 April and 1 May have been axed.

“It was a difficult decision that could unfortunately not be avoided due to a technical issue beyond our control,” said MSC.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused to our guests by this unfortunate situation, and we spare no effort to make sure every one of them can still fully enjoy their holiday experience with MSC Cruises.”

Passengers have been offered alternative travel options, a future cruise voucher or a full refund.

In addition, they have also been given onboard credit which can be spent on another MSC sailing.

MSC took delivery of MSC Seaview in 2018 ahead of its inaugural season which it spent in the Mediterranean.
