Norwegian Cruise Line is understood to have cancelled Norwegian Spirit’s 2024 Alaska season after securing a full ship charter instead.

Guests on a dozen seven-night sailings have been affected, according to Cruise Hive.

The cruise blog said guests have received an email stating that all Norwegian Spirit sailings are cancelled from 3 July to 18 September.

Customers are being offered a full refund and a 50% discount for selected 2023 Alaska cruises, which will be issued as a new future cruise credit. This can be used to book Alaska cruises this year on either Norwegian Jewel or Norwegian Spirit.

All guests will also receive a 10% future cruise credit for any sailing up to 31 December 2024, on any ship cruising to any destination. However, this can’t be combined with the 50% 2023 Alaska discount but it can be used to book an Alaska cruise this year on Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Bliss or Norwegian Sun.
