Escorted tour specialist Newmarket Holidays has launched two new South Africa safaris, including its first with a Mauritius beach extension.

The new 15-day On Safari in South Africa with Mauritius Beach tour starts with a week of animal adventures, including five game drives to spot the Big Five in Sebatana Private Reserve and Welgevonden Game Reserve, plus a night drive, guided walking tour, Champagne brunch in the bush and a sundowner on Sunset Rock.

On day nine the tour transfers to Mauritius for an all-inclusive stay and activities that include a visit to a winery dedicated to lychee wine and the chance to be a conservationist for the day by helping local biologists at a wildlife foundation.

Prices start from £3,938 per person, saving 5% until 9 June, and including all-inclusive accommodation, game drives, excursions, activities and all flights, with departures from January to December 2024.

For its second new launch, Newmarket Holidays has added exclusive accommodation to its popular On Safari South Africa programme.

Rhino East Lodge is a 10 bungalow, five-star lodge in the wildlife-rich Sebatana Private Reserve, with an outdoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sundeck looking out over the bush, plus a restaurant, bar and large terrace, and a traditional African boma for socialising.

On Safari in South Africa – Rhino East Lodge is a 10-day tour that starts from £2,527 per person, saving 5% until 9 June, and including game drives, full-board accommodation and return flights. Departures are available from February to October 2024, with flights from Heathrow.

Head of Long Haul Product Kathy Vigolo said: “Adding more range to our African Safari collection has been a priority over the past few months. Agents always jump straight into selling this award-winning range and we believe these will be no exception.

“Agents and customers have asked many times about a beach extension, so we are really excited to include Mauritius in the programme, and Rhino East Lodge is a fabulous addition to our accommodation choice.”
