The Association of Women Travel Executives (AWTE) has opened nominations for its 2024 Annual Awards.
Industry colleagues are invited to submit nominations to honour people who have made a significant contribution over the past 12 months.
The winners will be announced at the AWTE’s Christmas lunch, which takes place on 29 November at Church House, Westminster, London.
AWTE Chair Michelle Laverick said: “As we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the AWTE, this year’s awards hold an extraordinary significance.
“For seven decades, we have been at the forefront of championing women in the travel industry, supporting their professional growth, and advocating for equality. The 2024 Awards not only honour outstanding achievements but also serve as a testament to our legacy and the incredible progress we’ve made together.
“I encourage you to nominate yourself or a colleague who embodies excellence, resilience, and the spirit of empowerment. Let’s continue to recognise and uplift the women who are shaping the future of our industry.”
Women can nominate themselves, a colleague or someone they admire as well as a company that they believe supports women with their career in the industry.
There are three new categories for 2024: AWTE Outstanding Achievement, AWTE Sustainability and AWTE Unsung Hero.
The Ambassador Award recognises a travel industry male professional who actively encourages, enables, and supports women in business and the Mentor of the Year Award celebrates a mentor who has made a profound impact by supporting others to achieve their full potential. There’s also a Rising Star category, for women under-30.
